Children’s Author

Biography

I am a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and a small business owner.  I am currently fulfilling a lifetime dream of mine as an author of children’s books.  My first three books are based on my four small children while growing up in our home.  Each reader will experience delightful, real life stories.  Each book is filled with enchantment, and fairytales while ending each story with a sweet life lesson about God.

I was born and raised in Lawrence County, Ohio in a little, but quaint place called Fox Hollow which my fourth book is based on, as I wanted to honor my momma and dad. I met my sweetheart in  high school and married after graduation. We then moved to Paintsville, Kentucky where we raised our four children for 12 years.  We decided to relocate back to our hometown of Ironton, Ohio.

I was raised in a loving, Christian home with my momma and dad, plus 6 other siblings.  My momma and dad taught us that God was our king of kings, the omnipotent one and almighty.  I was always encouraged as a child to use my imagination and  it was always ok to believe in magical fairy tales.  Life was and is a big, beautiful place of enchanting, and surprising moments.

I am grateful for my husband and soulmate who is always supportive of my crazy ideas and dreams.  I love spending time with my grandchildren and family, along with writing children’s books.  I enjoy my story time hours and themed parties I do for little girls and boys.

My illustrator

Ricardo Ramírez Gallo is an amazing illustrator and he and his wife are friends of mine. I’m so thankful God placed him in my life. We met years ago and I knew that someday he would illustrate my books.

He began working professionally at the age of seventeen as one of the youngest animators in his home country of Colombia. After setting aside his career to serve a two-year mission, he returned to his artwork, focusing on illustration. With versatility of media and style as his forte, he now resides in the US with his wife, Lana, and works in watercolor, acrylics, pencil, ink, colored pencil, pastels, airbrush, featherbrush, charcoal, and digital, doing portraiture as well as various commercial art projects and illustrating children’s literature.

He gratefully acknowledges that his artistic talent is a gift from God, he says: “Though I am self-taught, I have always tried to value and improve this talent that my Heavenly Father has given me.” Devout to his faith, he most enjoys working in children’s literature that instills faith and teaches love for the Lord and for one another.
